Bintan - Day 2 (Part 2) - Finale!
... Continued from previous post ...
As I was saying, we moved to another spot on the beach. We began to use the volleyball at last.
But you see, our alread-tired-from-kayaking arms weren't so friendly to this idea, so we figured we do this instead:
After messing around for a while, YL thought aloud: do you think we could do a human pyramid?
And thus resulted in photos like these....
Me losing my balance 'cos I kept laughing
Dearie getting a go at it
Me being supported by Dearie behind
Finally made it up properly
Of course Evon had her go at it, but again, I will not violate her rights and shall not post it up. Heehee!
Some ang mohs were really having a good time laughing at what we were doing. At least we made some people happy, other than ourselves. haha!~
We approached someone along the beach for these beautiful shots. 1 got flash 1 without. Don't seem like got much diffy eh? But both still look just as good.
Lovely people, lovely view.....
If you think that's the end, you're right, 'cos we left the beach..
..to head for the pool again! Haha!!!
Actually, we went there to have the yummy fries and a drink. It was to be our snack before our ferry ride back. We were already planning to have dinner at Bedok 85 (that's what they called it. I've never heard of it.) when we got back to Singapore - which would really be more like supper.
The pool is a wonderful sight. What you see in the pictures at the website are for real (unlike some resorts who use lighting to "beautify" it). We considered having water polo 'cos there were nets at a separate corner of the pool - but it was 1.5m deep. Evon and I would have major problems wading around there.
Yet another super nice group photo taking by the bartender of the poolbar
THe whole trip through, World of Warcraft kakis Evon, Bladey and Dearie were always talking about it. Even in the pool. Thus it explains Bladey doing the ninja run - in the water.
Ninja moving forward
Ninja moves side..
..to side
Then Dearie came up with a brighter idea - FLYING ninja.
Bladey decides to fly in after him.
But YL snaps too soon, or did Bladey jump too late?
YL's really proud of snapping this one 'cos Bladey moved his arms in such a way they were so aligned.
Then the 2 boys got even lagi better idea - BOTH jump at the same time. Biangz.
Again, dunno snap too soon or jump too late.
This time the other way around.
After that jump, Dearie felt pain in his foot and realised he cut it on the rock. He quickly got out to rinse the wound and I handed him a plaster.
Meanwhile, YL got all narcissistic with Bladey.
It was our turn now - but we only got 1 shot..
..before YL turned the camera upon herself again.
So I decided to destroy the moment for her. Heehee!
Imagine her look when she checked the photo. Hahahaha!!! I was just lucky to have gotten into the frame just nicely.
Here's a proper one after that.
Since we knew that we'd weigh lighter in water, we wanted to do the pyramid thingy in the water, but Evon and I just couldn't get our footing right and decided to do this.
Didn't really turn out right eh? Would've tried till we got something better but the camera battery went flat.
So we finally got out of the water, freezed our asses off to the showever beside the pool, dried ourselves, and hurried to the lobby's toilet to get changed.
We did our finances at the lobby with YL as our accountant, calculated the debts, and got onto the bus to the jetty.
It was unpleasant at the jetty 'cos there was a very long queue and MANY MANY MANY people. We had to wait to go through customs, then wait AGAIN to board the ferry. The place was definitely overcrowded. Everyone was visibly tired.
The ferry was packed. We made do with the upper deck, but at least I got a window seat. I tried to fall asleep, but the bobbing of the waves didn't make it easy.
I got up when we were on Singapore waters 'cos mummy called to check on me. I was starting to get sea sick already. The darkness outside the windows didn't help. When the ferry docked, I was desperate to get out and clamoured out.
Out of customs and out of jetty, I felt somewhat better. The taxi queue was long, so we walked across to get a bus to Bedok.
Remember we planned to go Bedok 85 for dinner? Yeah, well, to hell with that. We were too tired and settled for the hawker centre where we alighted. I was still feeling like I was on the ferry, seeing everything around me as bobbing up and down. My motion sickness is really bad. It's something that's been with me since young. At least I didn't puke right?
In fact, I managed to eat! Stupid me wasn't thinking and gobbled a packet of nasi lemak. HOW COULD I EAT THAT AT NIGHT?! arghhh... therefore, I had diarrhea and puked the next day. Food poisoning. Argh. Weak stomach. Jialatz lehz me.
Ah well.. finally, this ends the week long update on the Bintan trip. It was the first trip I had ever made with friends (other than previous trips I made with the school which were in larger groups with teachers, or the one with Dearie alone). We really enjoyed ourselves - as you can see from our photos.
Plenty of hard laughs and relaxing on the whole. Just what we stressed up fellas needed. We're not high salaried workers, but still work our asses off, yet find time to enjoy the companionship of good ol' friends and enjoy life.
One day, we will get better salaries, and hopefully will be able to travel again. Further this time. Have a better piece of mind (instead of constantly calculating if we have enough left for our next meal), and yet have just as much, if not more, fun.
