Bintan - Day 2 (Part 1)
... Continued from previous post ...
Dearie awoke to open the door. I didn't even hear a thing. Bladey had been knocking. Oops.
We washed up and packed a little before going to look for YL and Evon. Bladey had been up the earliest and had already gone on a walk around the resort while we pigs just slept away. Haha!
After breakfast, we lounged around in our room, then planned the rest of the day and checked out. We signed out a ball from the pool counter, just in case it would come into use.
YL dropped the towels she was holding on to, so Evon and I simultaneously reached out to grab them....
OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
My turn to kenna the ciggie. Wah kaoz. It really hurt like don't know what. I snapped at her. I couldn't help it. Smoking is just something I don't understand. Some more at such a beautiful, clean, healthy looking place. [Dunno how YL made it through the night with her smokey room.]
As of today (30/9), the scar is there.
Well, I kind of figured no point harping on it, so it was...
Beach time!
YL ready for a tan.
Dearie takes a sip of the beer that Evon bought on her first day.
Then proceeds to lay down for the tan.
Evon and Bladey enjoying the sea breeze (with Bladey trying to act cool).
Those 2 fair fellas still trying to get tan.
And it's my turn to get narcissistic.
Evon helps me get a better shot.
There were a couple of great shots of Evon, but she told me not to put it up so I'm respecting her rights and will keep it for my own viewing pleasure. heehee!
Bladey got a little bored and wanted to go kayaking. We 3 girls couldn't swim and were seriously worried about that idea. Dearie was always the neutral so whatever we did, he'd just come along. We decided to check out the prices. Bladey, having walked around the place earlier that morning, knew exactly where to look for the kayaking-service-provider. I tagged along and caught him checking out the prices.
We walked back, told the others, and decided it wasn't too expensive at $15 for a double kayak, for half an hr. I know, Singapore cheaper, but here water cleaner. Haha! But then... Bintan waters got jellyfish. Eeks!
We noobs got into the life jackets and fumbled into the kayaks. If you remember, there are 5 of us, meaning one of us had to take the single-seater. Bladey wanted that, but because neither Evon nor YL could take the double on their own, Bladey and Evon paired up, leaving YL to figure out the kayak on her own.
I got into the kayak with Dearie, and realised that we could move quite well - and then he told me he canoe before. BIANGZ. When we were deciding whether to kayak we asked who had done it before and only Bladey said he had. Dearie dearie.......
After a few instructions from the guys, YL managed to manouvre the kayak well and definitely had more stamina than I had. Haha! I let Dearie row us around since he said I made things worse. Oops.
YL was trying to get a tan while kayaking. Turning her boat every now and then so it'd be equal. Hahaha! Damn farny theory. I thought I saw a jellyfish in the water. But there was only 1, and it didn't seem as big as I thought it'd be...... Hmm..
We definitely spent more than half an hr in the water 'cos we went out too far and spent ALOT of time plowing our way back. The guy didn't charge us extra. Heehee! But we did tip him lahz. He was really nice. Offered Bladey a Bintan ciggie, and helped us look after all our clothes, belongings, etc etc.
Then he showed us this:
Bees making honey. Damn scary. Damn cool.
We left the little shack and it was beach time again. But I'll update that as part 2 so stay tuned ya?
