Drive myself? Never.

Dearie sent me home again from class last night. We both ended our classes slightly earlier than 10pm, but the traffic was already heavy.

Cars were all lined up trying to get out of SIM. Motorbikes were weaving their way through any gaps possible.

I have been in both 4-wheeled and 2-wheeled vehicles at 10pm at SIM. BOTH don't seem safe at all. I think only the 6-8 wheeled buses are safe enough for that stretch of road, at that time. But it can be a pain to try to get onto them.

I really think that LTA should install speed cameras along the stretch of road from Ngee Ann Polytechnic all the way to Sunset Way. Vehicles love to speed there. It's worrying.

I could never envision myself controlling a vehicle in such road conditions. From my experience of female drivers, I will never trust myself to control one. As a pillion, I'd know.

Then again, I realised last night how much I distrust all the users of the road. I do not trust pedestrians to look out for oncoming traffic because many atime I have heard them say: Car dare not knock us one lahz. NO LOR. If that's the case no accidents liaoz!

Also, seeing how cars/taxis LURRRRVE to cut into motorcyclists' lanes... my goodness.. They think that it's the same as cutting onto another 4-wheeler's lane. NO IT IS NOT. Just one slight brush from you could well send the bike flying. And into the face of OTHER oncoming traffic.

Motorcyclists tend to give in to the temptation of weaving in and out of traffic. I do not allow Dearie to do that, but bikers have similarly put themselves into danger by weaving in and out at high speed. WHAT THE HELL?! There's no way you could stop properly in time when needed lor! Once you fly out, that's it!!!

Singapore roads.. damn dangerous. Not to say other countries are perfect 'cos I am definitely not testifying for or against them. I just ask for road users to be more mindful of more than what is going on. You are NOT the only life on the road. Things do go wrong. Isn't it best to be a little safer and patient???
