Me still sick
I had been anticipating Friday night for quite a while. The thought of being able to meet up with a good ol' friend always gets me pumped up and excited. Anyway, it went just as I had liked it to be - slow, relaxed, comfortable, cosy, and whatever descriptive words that fit into "NICE".
[Unfortunately I was down with a mild sore throat, and it was affecting my voice.]
Crustacean is a restaurant at Holland Village serving ang moh-styled seafood/pasta and oh-so-sinful dessert. It's not cheap, by the way. Main course at $20+ (though we did get the 2nd one at 50% off). Dessert was between $8-$12. But the atmosphere, live music and food were worth it. I've never been a foodie, and probably never will be, but YL is, and she was definitely happy that night. haha!
It's been a while since I ate expensive food and dessert. My lifestyle is such that MacDonalds satisfies me well enough. Which is a good thing considering I (and Dearie) am NOT rich. Heck, I only take home $1k a month. It felt good on Friday night. REeEeEALLY good. We were just missing our wine glasses - only that I have given up drinking. Mmmmm.. No photos. It was a just-me-and-YL night. I wouldn't spoil it by snapping all over the place.
Side note: YL said she wanted her wedding to be there. I think it's a good idea.
A pity I had to stinge and buy my mummy a bouquet of flowers (a big bouquet at that) that wasn't as nicely wrapped as the ones I usually get. My mummy still loved them. Fresh flowers mah. Extremely fragrant too. If mummy's reading: HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUMMY! (That's for 10th July.)
Saturday was quite a lazy day. I played with Ki in the morning, and when Dearie came, I went to take my bath - finally - and he took over. Ki was eating at that point of time, and when he saw Dearie, he just couldn't eat any more and wanted to play with him. Naughty boy. He loves Dearie.
When ki fell asleep much later, Dearie and I prepared to go out. We were off to buy sushi and bring it over to Zhenyuan's place. My sore throat was still there and voice was deteriorating. We hopped onto Weitang's (dad's) car - Nissan Cefiro - and went to Ginza Plaza after his detour to NUS.
Apparently there is a shop there that sells lots of Japanese stuff and the fish there are very fresh. Sushi too. All made there on the spot when you order. Business not bad also. Amazing. Ginza Plaza so ulu also so many people. Edwin and his gf were already there. Weitang only dropped us off ('cos he had to go be a nice guy for one girl, and collect his MP3 player from another girl). HAHA! Ok. That story is not exactly it, but hey, he's single and can do whatever he likes. From what I hear he's been lucky with the girls. Haha! By lucky, I mean being able to befriend more than usual. Any more than that.. er.. I don't know.
Back to Ginza.
We bought the food (alot of raw fish sia) and headed for Edwin's (dad's) car - BMW - and actually wanted to go straight to Zhenyuan's place. Dumb me wanted to eat XO Fish Head Bee Hoon so they actually brought me there, bought my $9 bee hoon (yes $9!!! 'cos I only bought 1 person's share and takeaway bucket costs $2 - but it's a damn good bucket too - and quantity was ALOT). For those who do not know, I'm not a sushi person, thus my separate food. I'm an ass huh? Spoiler sia. But hey, i was eating fish right?
Since we were already at Buona Vista, we headed to Holland Village and picked up 2 tubs of Haagen Dazs. YUMMY. But no use. I sick. Cannot eat. Blech.
We hung out at Zhenyuan's palce for the rest of the night. Dearie and I spent our time in front of the TV while the rest played Mahjong. Managed to catch a really good documentary on "The Da Vinci Code". Waaaaay better than the one Arts Central aired. Dearie fell asleep half way through. He was understandably tired this time. He had woken up early to wash his bike, amongst other stuff. 9am on Saturday IS early. I bugged him earlier about going to the night safari, but I think he was too tired to consider it. Another day perhaps. No hurry.
We left at midnight. Took the Cefiro back home with Dearie, whose bike was at my place. Cefiro quite cool lehz. Got a camera at the back and a screen in the car for reversing. Haha! But people who know how to drive don't need the screen. So.. not much of use huh?
I wanted to shop on Sunday, but again, I was still sick. Not that I had a fever or was feeling uncomfortable. I just felt that staying home should help me get better quickly. After all I'd be going to Genting on Friday and need to be well.
Dearie went off to shop for his school bag. As luck would have it, he got caught in the rain. His HP was damaged. Sighz. Didn't buy the bag, and rode back home. Got caught in rain AGAIN. Kaoz. Poor boy.......
While all this happened, I was playing with Ki. Also took a good 2hr nap. Miraculously, the paracetemol I took before the nap cured my sore throat. Too bad my voice was still badly affected. Very coarse, and takes a more conscious effort to get my first words out. Definitely can't sing now. ARGHHHHH..
I wanted to catch "The Singing Detective" on Stara Movies that night. Starring Robert Downey Jr., Mel Gibson, and co-stars Katie Holmes and Adrien Brody. Sounds damn promising right?
It was 7+. I tagged along to bring ki for dinner at MacDonalds at IMM. He was most reluctant to leave, 'cos he knew he'd be going home. Ki is just sooooooo cuuuute. ahhh..
I got home at 9+. Nearly 9:30pm. I didn't really understand what was going on in the movie. Slightly after I reached, the doorbell rang. I certainly did not expect Dearie to turn up after getting caught in the rain TWICE!
He actually came over to accompany me for the movie!!! I mean, yeah, we did make a date to watch it together, but... he's so sweet ain't he??? Have no expectations, and get surprises. Pleasant ones. Heehee! Hor YL? Different from hiding from disappointment.
The movie wasn't as good as I'd liked it. I wasn't sure of what was going on till quite late into the movie.
Dearie got lobang from Bladey for a one-day job to be an usher. $7 an hour. Not bad sia. Dearie definitely needs all the money he can raise to put him through school. Sigh... I'm still waiting for the bike money to come in... I've got a feeling it's going to take a very long time....... Like I did mention, I can offset the loan though - if he gets me a 4-room good location flat. Heehee...
No I'm not evil. I still believe the same thing. Don't buy what you cannot afford. Being in debt is never a good thing. Constantly oweing others. Just save up and buy with own moeny or simply don't buy.
If cannot save up - LEARN, damn it.

Time to look forward to Genting. YIPPEE! My parents and Dearie.. Too bad no kiki. haha! And the pig too. Can't have 'em all. heehee..
